Oak Park Mini Murals
Our most beloved visual arts program, Mini Murals commissions local artists to create vibrant murals along Oak Park’s railway viaducts — transforming everyday spaces into open-air galleries that reflect community pride and imagination. Oak Park Mini Mural 2026 Application opens in March.
The community mini-mural project was launched in 2010 to promote creative expression and provide an enriching visual experience for residents and visitors alike.
Murals already have been painted on the railroad embankments along North and South boulevards at Oak Park Avenue near the Green Line station, as well as both east and west of Marion Street. Murals also have been installed on South Boulevard east of Taylor Street and west of Lombard Avenue.
Our Passion is in Helping Artists Shine
Artists deserve to feel supported and celebrated. The Oak Park Area Arts Council champions the people and organizations that keep creativity alive in our tri-village area. Through programming, grants, advocacy, and education, we strengthen the connections that make our community thrive in and through the arts.
