Oak Park Area Arts Council Announces the First
Russell C. Lissuzzo Scholarship Recipient

The Oak Park Area Arts Council is proud to announce the first recipient of the Russell C. Lissuzzo Scholarship.  Charles (Charlie) Kahn is the 2008 recipient and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.  Charlie is a very talented young jazz musician (saxophone and clarinet) who has been accepted into the rigorous Jazz Studies program at the University of Illinois, Champaign Urbana.

The Lissuzzo Scholarship was established last fall after Russ Lissuzzo, architect, “drawer,” jazz musician and a life long huge supporter of the arts, passed away.  In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the Oak Park Area Arts Council in order to honor Russ with a fine arts scholarship program.
