Deadline for round two submissions is 5 p.m. on May 30th ***The Oak Park Area Arts Council is looking for young artist 16-19 years old who are residents of the Village of Oak Park, Forest Park, & River Forest to work in its summer teen arts employment program, Off the Wall. Apprentices work with professional artist who are core artist with the Chicago Public Art Group. They design and create a public art mural using the medium of bricolage/broken tile mosaic.Aside from creating a fabulous piece of public art, they also earn a paycheck doing something they enjoy-art! Deadline for applications will be 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31th. |

Audrey Brown has worked in watercolor painting and monotypes throughout her career, spanning some twenty years. For more information, visit the website. *** The Oak Park Arts District will host its annual What's Blooming on Harrison Art Festival on Harrison Street in Oak Park, IL. This year's Festival features an exhibition of Highland Park's "Magic Garden" which comprises hand-painted butterflies. These butterflies are over 3 feet wide and have received rave reviews in major national publications. Artists and vendors will display their wares, live entertainment throughout the event. The art show will feature over 50 artists. |

Take your skills to a new level with one or both of the 3 day intensive workshops taught by OPAL instructors and professional artists Kathy Hirsh and Jesse Howard. If you know you want to take one of the workshops, don't wait to register because space is limited. You won't want to miss out on the chance to learn from these amazing artists. The five session intensive will be held on each night, July 25-29, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You will learn a detailed overlay process, including how to work effectively with the saw, flux and solder and oxy-acetyline torch. Misc.***Winifred Haun & Dancers has been invited to Montrose, CO to participate in a dance residency from June 13 to June 17. Sponsored by the Black Canyon Cultural Arts Center, the residency will include teaching modern dance workshops and choreography from Company repertory to local dancers.
